Supported by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, the “ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator,” executed by IAPS, collaborated with the Taiwan Sports Industry Expo to hold its inaugural recruitment orientation on December 27th at the Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. This allowed Taiwanese sports innovation startups to fully and clearly understand the contents and benefits of the accelerator program.

At the orientation event, the innovative startups were enlightened by insights from IAPS CEO, Dr. Michael Lin, IAPS Project Manager Judy Fang, sports industry mentors, and alumni. The event saw enthusiastic participation with over 150 attendees on-site and an additional online audience, bringing the total viewership to nearly 200 people.

For the inaugural session, partners of the program were also invited. The Sports Innovation Forum featured discussions from Darren Chua, Director of The Ideal Venture Studio & Space, Tim Liu, head of the Digital Transformation Institute of the Institute for Information Industry, and Paddy Tan, Co-founder of BlackStorm Consulting from Singapore. They shared international perspectives on sports innovation and the assistance and resources provided by the accelerator program. The event also welcomed Hidenori Suzuki, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Ticketing and CRM Director, who offered direct international connections and resources for the sports tech innovation teams.

Outstanding alumni from the program, including James from mbranfiltra, Chen Gu-Ming, the founder of Feebees barefoot training socks, Leo, CEO of Funique VR, and Andrew, founder of SAFE SWIM, attended the event to share their experiences. They not only showcased their innovative products and services but also explained the benefits and resources they gained during their projects. Maintaining close ties post-graduation, they are collectively expanding and managing the Asia-Pacific sports innovation ecosystem, continually exploring more collaboration and growth opportunities!
