2022 HYPE GVA TAIWAN International Forum & Universiade Finale on May 11th.

The “HYPE Global Virtual Accelerator Taiwan” (HYPE GVA Taiwan) project commissioned by the Ministry of Education’s Sports Administration and organized by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University collaborates with National Taiwan Sport University this year. On May 11th, the “2022 HYPE GVA Taiwan International Forum & Universiade” will be held online, aiming to combine the annual major event of domestic universities with Taiwan’s sports innovation energy. The event seeks to provide more international sports innovation information and case studies, ensuring that international exchanges continue despite the pandemic.

Since its establishment in 2018, the HYPE GVA Taiwan has been continuously building the domestic and international sports innovation ecosystem. It has trained 75 sports innovation teams from Taiwan and abroad. Vice Director Che-Hung Lin of the Sports Administration expressed that in order to enhance the visibility of international sports innovation teams, HYPE GVA Taiwan is collaborating with National Taiwan Sport University to create a virtual exhibition space for innovative teams on the Universiade official website. By combining it with the 111th National Collegiate Athletic Games, the achievements of the sports innovation accelerator can be promoted domestically. This allows the representatives and students of participating university teams to remotely learn about the trends of Taiwan’s sports innovation accelerator and get to know the introduction of various training teams. In the future, they may have the opportunity to enter the field of sports innovation and become part of Taiwan’s sports innovation force.

The international forum will invite experts from Taiwan, Spain, Thailand, and Israel from different fields. Through online keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, they will share insights on innovative applications in major sports events, sustainable development in the sports industry, talent development in the era of the pandemic, and international sports innovation exchange activities and examples in the pandemic. The forum speakers include Professor Kung-Ting Yeh from National Taiwan Sport University, who will explain the innovative technologies and exhibition results applied in the 111th National Collegiate Athletic Games. Guillermo Heredia, Director of HYPE Sports Innovation, will share international experiences and discuss the application of Metaverse and NFT in sports innovation. Additionally, Tslil Lahav, Director of the Economic and Trade Office at the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, will share successful examples of international sports innovation exchange activities conducted by Israel during the pandemic. Nittaya Kerdjundtuk, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand, will discuss Thailand’s preparations for the UTMB 2022 World Series race during the pandemic.
