HYPE GVA TAIWAN Launches Orientation for the 8th Cohort

The Ministry of Education’s Sports Administration, in collaboration with the Yang-Ming Industry Accelerator Season Patent Development Strategy Center and HYPE Sports Innovation Foundation (HYPE), officially launched the call for proposals for the 8th training project of the “HYPE Global Virtual Accelerator Taiwan” on June 15th. With the completion of seven training projects, the program has already invested a total of 500 million Taiwan dollars and successfully nurtured 74 innovative teams from both domestic and international backgrounds.

In the 4th cohort, the team Uniigym won the 2021 Taipei International Computer Show Innovation Design Award with their “Uniicell-AI Interactive Fitness Service.” In the 7th cohort, the team Xpure planned to showcase their sports-oriented masks, which utilize patented respiratory systems and special nanofiltration materials to create reusable and effective filtration, at the 111th National Intercollegiate Games held earlier this year.

A total of 70 domestic and international sports innovation teams participated in the 7th training project, with 10 teams being selected for the training phase after the initial screening. The program also included sports innovation-related panel discussions, inviting well-known brands such as Taiwan Mobile and Decathlon to share their experiences in sports innovation management. The project spanned two and a half months and was conducted through a combination of physical events and online innovation courses.

The Sports Administration stated that as the sports culture in Taiwan continues to flourish, the landscape of innovative enterprises focused on sports technology is also thriving. The goal of the Sports Administration is to promote Taiwan’s visibility internationally through sports and innovation. Therefore, the HYPE Global Virtual Accelerator Taiwan will continue to cultivate and lead Taiwan’s sports innovation teams towards the global stage, showcasing Taiwan’s innovative energy in sports to the world.

An information session for the 8th training project will be held via live online streaming on the 22nd. The session will provide a detailed introduction to the accelerator program and invite Zvika Popper, the Chief Operating Officer of HYPE Sports Innovation Foundation, to share the collaborative relationship with the Taiwan Sports Accelerator.
