The SPIN Accelerator TAIWAN, a joint initiative by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, Industrial Accelerator Center of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and HYPE, the internationally renowned Israel Sports Innovation Industry Alliance, held its third-phase Demo Day on January 17th, 2020. Thirteen highly promising sports startups shared their business models during this event, with seven of them coming from various countries worldwide, including Russia, New Zealand, India, Israel, Singapore, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. They expressed their expectations to receive guidance from the Taiwan Sports Accelerator and engage with local sports industry players, injecting new energy into Taiwan’s sports technology sector.

This Demo Day event featured representatives from dozens of technology and innovation industries, including Chunghwa Telecom, Wei Chuan Dragons, Decathlon, Sports Industry Association, Po Cheng Group, and others. These entities expressed their interest in arranging further in-depth discussions through the IAPS program at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. They also expressed their expectations for continued support in facilitating rapid integration for more sports startups and expanding practical business opportunities.
The most outstanding sports startup teams of this phase were selected through voting by multiple experts. DP SMART (Taiwan) and FOOTBOT (Russia) were chosen and will have the opportunity to participate in HYPE’s global sports innovation-related events. The IAPS Awards were given to STRYDE (Hong Kong) and Red Dot Drone (Singapore), providing them with funding opportunities to establish teams abroad. The ASPN Awards were given to Uniwill (Taiwan) and Pickups (Taiwan), granting them the opportunity to participate in the Sports Administration’s ASPN forum overseas.
