SIT 2025 – ASPN Keynote Debut on the International Stage in Japan

July 31, Dr. Hank Huang, VP for OIAC, NYCU, delivered a keynote speech at SIT 2025—Japan’s premier sports technology symposium. He presented the outcomes of the ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator program and outlined emerging trends in Asia-Pacific sports innovation.

SIT is Japan’s largest professional conference focused on the future of sports technology and industry. This year’s theme, “Sustainable Futures through the Integration of Technology and Sport,” drew thousands of participants from global sports organizations, innovative enterprises, government agencies, and academic institutions.

Since its launch in 2018 under the APEC Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG), ASPN—championed by Chinese Taipei—has united 13 Asia-Pacific economies, successfully incubating over 130 sports-tech startups from 25 countries. ASPN is committed to building a forward-looking, sustainable sports innovation ecosystem across the region.
The international collaboration network established by ASPN has received formal endorsement from APEC HRDWG. In September, ASPN will assume new international outreach duties assigned by the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, with a focus on “sports innovation” and “youth engagement,” driving integration of Asia-Pacific sports resources and sharing best practices.

Following his address, Dr. Huang engaged in a deep discussion with Mr. Koji Murofushi, Commissioner of Japan Sports Agency, and invited him to attend the 2026 ASPN Round Table Meeting—where representatives from Asia-Pacific economies will explore the future of sports-tech innovation and policy collaboration.
